LKR Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters!

LKR is supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters tomorrow, February 25th for their annual 2012 Bowl for Kids' Sake. This years theme is Super Hero Bowl.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County. Teams of six people raise pledges to support Big Brothers Big Sisters’ youth mentoring programs.

LKR will have a total of three teams participating in this fun event. Happy Bowling!!!

Iowa City, IA - Ranked #1 place to Start Over in 2012

On December 19th, Yahoo Finance ran an article highlighting the six best cities for starting over in 2012.  Iowa City, Iowa ranked number 1.

No. 1 starting-over community: Iowa City, Iowa

Population: 150,000

This city is home to the University of Iowa, which helps contribute to its 4.7% jobless rate and 16.1% singles population.

Located on the Iowa River, Iowa City served as Iowa's territorial capital from 1841 to 1857, and the Old Capitol Building is still a local landmark.

"Iowa City really is a nice town," Sperling says. "It has an attractive downtown, a well-educated population and a great community feel to it."
